Scoutmaster: James Belcher

Mr. James Belcher began serving Troop 145 as an Assistant Scoutmaster in April, 2018 and became Scoutmaster in June, 2019. 

James is passionate about our community and has first hand experience with Scouting programs.  He grew up in Bland County Virginia where he began his Scouting career as a Tiger Cub in Pack 21.  He advanced through Webelos and received his Arrow Of Light, bridged to Troop 21, progressed through the ranks and eventually earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  James is also a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow where he served as Chapter Chief and Lodge Chief before as a youth.  He also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 21 in Bland before moving to the New River Valley to start his career and family.  He attends St. Paul UMC with his wife, son, and daughter.  He is a Police Officer for the Town of Christiansburg and is also an Emergency Medical Technician.
